This is my final video presentation and my slideshare video
This article about creating geofilters was so interesting. I haven’t had a lot of experience using Snapchat. I didn’t even know what a geofilter was. Geofilters are a way you can show where you are and what you are doing. If you have locations enabled many places around the world can create a geofilter for you on top of your snap. You also have the option to create your own. Click on the link to find out how to start adding geofilters to your snaps http://bit.ly/2vfAlvt.
The book by Micah Solomon, “Your Customer is the Star,” makes some really great points as far as millennials are the generation we need to cater to as a business. I have a little bit of an opinion about this because I have seen how times changing has affected a few different generations. I am quickly learning because I have millennial children and they help me figure things out. One thing that bothers me though is millennials may be the customers now and in the future, but we still have customers that are not of that generation. Can we not cater to the needs of both? If the goal is customer satisfaction that goal should not be aimed at a certain age. It should be ALL customers. People do want things delivered quickly and they want the process to be simple and the waiting time to be almost non existent. It almost embarrasses me that I am a little bit like this. I do think there is a solution though.. I think you have to add technology and progress as the world progresses. However, I think you have to also consider those who are not changing with the time and who are struggling to find their way through the Walmart checkout lane. When I say that.. I mean sometimes I go to the store later in the evening and the self checkout is the only lane open. For some baby boomers this is so frustrating to navigate. So they need someone.. A Person.. to check them out or someone willing to show them. This is just one place. Imagine the frustration of paying bills or working a smart tv for those who have done this the same way for years and years. Either way… I think businesses should cater to both, take care of both and if they know how to do things..great! If they don’t… show them the way.. That is truly making All your customers the Star!
The article I read by Social Media Examiner on the class Facebook page “4 Mobile Image Apps that Create Amazing Visuals” was an interesting read. The apps featured were Prisma, Ripl, PicMonkey and AdobeSpark. Now, I have had some experience using Adobe Spark Video so I chose to go with Adobe Spark Post to try it out. I will experiment more with the others later but wanted to give my opinion on Adobe. I love their product. It is easy to use, I can start it while I am out on my mobile app and I can continue to work at home just by signing in to my adobe account. Here are the top 6 things that make Adobe Spark appealing to me.
Images are very easy to integrate into the app
I can pick from various layouts and rearrange pictures and text the way I want it
I can add visually appealing banners, boxes, shapes to any of my work
I can choose from any of the color palettes or make my own
Adding text is very easy and I get to pick from a variety of fonts and place the text where I want it on the image
You can choose what platform you are using your image for….facebook, instagram, blog, twitter…..and it RESIZES it for you! (this is my favorite feature I think)
Recently my kids went to Florida and I didn’t get to go with them. I decided to try and put together some pictures for them from their trip. I will only post one because I don’t know that they would appreciate me sharing all of them. I thought the background was beautiful though and I like the way the post turned out.
You should try it out! Let me know what mobile image apps you currently use and love and why…would love to hear about them. And here is a link to a tutorial on using Adobe Spark from youtube.
The question came up in the article by Mari Smith, “Should you merge your personal account with your fan page?”
So… I don’t have any fans really, besides my children and they are just kinda required to like me. Ha!
But I thought I would share a little bit about why I didn’t want to merge my personal account with my business page for this class. I like to know exactly what I am doing. I like to post things I am confident about and feel good sharing. I am learning here so I chose to opt out of merging with my personal account and make a new account for the business page. I think merging is a great idea if you are only using it to connect in the business world. I think if you use it at all on a personal level, it would be hard to keep some things private and only share and read comments from those that really matter to you. Friends and family. Sometimes we don’t need strangers comments or opinions. That would definitely be my reason for keeping them separate.
Read the article at http://bitly.com/2fyn7RN and let me know your thoughts! If you choose to merge accounts, feel free to watch the tutorial on how to merge accounts.
Welcome to my Blog! Hope you enjoy it…..
